Investment Types
STOCKS= Units of ownership of a publicly traded corporation.
BONDS= an IOU or debt security issued by a government or corporation that generally pays a stated rate of interest as well as the stated face value on the maturity date.
MUTUAL FUNDS= Are a collection or portfolio, of stocks and bonds. When you invest in a fund, you are purchasing shares in a multimillion dollar portfolio. A mutual fund pools the money of its shareholders and invests in many securities. Each mutual fund has an investment objective.
ANNUITIES FIXED & VARIABLE= Are investments backed by an insurance company that offers a stated rate of return and maturity as a fixed contract would offer. A variable annuity is an insurance company offered investment that provides for participation in the market and as a result the performance will vary with the results of the investment choices.

UNIFORM GIFT TO MINOR ACCOUNT (UGMA) = Tax advantaged account to provide funds for college. The assets automatically transfer to the child when they reach legal age.
SEP IRA= a retirement plan that provides employees the ability to contribute pre-tax earnings and invest directly into a retirement tax sheltered account with the addition of employer contributions.
SIMPLE IRA= A retirement plan that provides employees the ability to contribute pre-tax earnings and invest directly into a retirement tax sheltered account with the addition of employer contributions.
401K PLAN= Allows you to save for retirement, lower your taxable income, benefit from tax-deferred compounding of account earnings, and choose investment selections that suit your needs. Employer contributions are available in some plans.
